Justice with less hassle: Arbitration the way it's supposed to be. But even better.

Arbitration is an established method to solve disputes in a just manner. It is usually cheaper and faster than court litigation. Our goal is to provide straight-forward, high-quality arbitration.

The speed and confidentiality in solving a legal dispute also means that you minimize the confrontation between parties. This makes moving on easier and facilitates reestablishing normal business relations between the parties with a positive outlook on the future.

We are convinced that our model is best suited especially for smaller scale claims.

The advantages:

Fast response and streamlined procedural rules

Picture
Within 24 hours from the moment you contact us, you will hear back from us, ready to start the registration process immediately.

Many of the practices of contemporary arbitration are not necessary in small claims, but incur a lot of lawyers' fees. For instance, there is no need to spend time and money on lengthy pre-arbitration procedures such as selecting arbitrators. Once we receive your claim, we will automatically assign a qualified arbitrator to your case. Of course, he or she will disclose any potential conflicts of interest. Parties can then opt to be assigned a different arbitrator.

Ex aequo et bono

Picture
Given the ease of the procedure, you do not have to make use of a lawyer, although you can if you wish.

Our arbitrators will decide the cases only according to general concepts of justice and fairness: ex aequo et bono ("according to the right and good").

While courts spend a lot of time on questions of procedure and appropriate jurisdiction (especially in international disputes), arbitration puts its emphasis on the substance. Arbitral tribunals determine themselves their competences and thereby save parties a lot of legal costs.

Strict confidentiality

Picture
Conventional courtrooms are public by definition. With Anywhere Arbitration, on the other hand, the only people who will ever hear about your case are you, the other parties, and us. Nobody else needs to know about your litigation. We pledge strict confidentiality in all matters.

Therefore, we support PGP encryption. You can find our public key here and you can download for free all the necessary software for encryption and decryption here (Windows/Mac/Unix). In the app stores of commonly used smartphones you will also find apps allowing you to send and read PGP-encrypted mail on your mobile phone.

Quality guaranteed

Picture
Arbitration is only effective if the arbitrator is properly qualified.
Therefore, we guarantee that our arbitrators have
  • a Master's, and/or PhD/JD degree from an internationally reputed law school, and
  • training and/or experience in the field of arbitration and/or legal work
This assures the quality of the process and will reduce the probability of courts vacating the award handed out after the proceedings.

Online and in writing only

Picture
What slows down many arbitration proceedings is the need for hearings. Instead, we conduct all proceedings through e-mail.

This has two advantages:
  • No need for hearings and thus no need to find a common time slot for everybody involved (which would often only be available after several months, sometimes even up to a year).
  • The process is fully transparent. There is a paper track of all interactions between the arbitrator and the parties, thus reducing the chances for ex-parte contact.

Transparent pricing

Picture
Our pricing system is as easy as it gets and fits into two sentences: We charge €115 per case and party plus applicale VAT/sales tax. If the case is handled by a panel of three arbitrators (which is only mandatory - and recommended - for claims exceeding €20.000 (twenty thousand) or USD 26.000 (twenty-six thousand)), then we charge three times the amount.

No hidden fees. No surprises.

Worldwide enforcement

Picture
Our rulings are enforceable in 149 countries and territories around the world (including e.g. the United States, Canada, and all European countries except Andorra). Courts in every country which ratified the New York Convention on the Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Arbitral Awards are required to recognize and enforce arbitration awards made in any of the other contracting states*.
For a full list of signatories of the Convention, click here.
* Some defenses apply. Nevertheless, our arbitrators will make sure to (a) only accept arbitrable cases, and (b) hand out enforceable awards.

Saves the planet

Picture
Our procedure takes place exclusively online. Therefore, the carbon footprint of the arbitration is as low as it possibly can be. There is no need to take planes to fly to far-away meetings.

This not only cuts cost, but it is also good for the environment.
